For the Master of Science degree (with a Manufacturing
Engineering concentration), the committee-on-studies
shall be composed of at least three members,
with the following constraints (see
COS page):

the Chair of the COS must
be a home department (ECE, ME) Faculty member;

at least two Faculty members
must be tenured or tenure track;
-
at least two members shall
be full-time home department (ECE, ME) faculty
members;
-
at least one Faculty member
shall be from Manufacturing Engineering; and
-
at least one person from local
industry, actively engaged in manufacturing.
The COS, in addition to approving
the scope, content and presentation of the Thesis
or Project, approves the elective courses. The
student should defend a proposal of the Thesis
or Project scope and content to the entire COS,
early in the Thesis or Project effort (i.e., not
near the end of the effort). |
